The Superfreq man's next full-length is out in April.
Incidents will be the third full-length from Mr C, AKA Richard West, the London-born, LA-based DJ and producer—and Buddhist meditation teacher—who's been a stalwart of the underground house scene for nearly three decades. Like his last one, 2013's Smell The Coffee, it'll see release through Superfreq Records, the label arm for his popular Superfreq party brand. Described as building like a DJ set, the album features "80 minutes of acid bliss" with "spiritual overtones." It'll come on double-vinyl, CD and digital formats, with artwork from Argentinean designer Pilar Zeta.
Preceding Incidents' release is a single, Stand Up, that West says is a protest song against "the authorities' continued affront on night life culture and our clubs." (It appeared on the
#savefabric compilation, supporting London club fabric's efforts to have its license reinstated.) Due out in February, the record includes two versions from West, and remixes from Jay Haze, Jay Tripwire and Omid 16B. Two more singles are also in the works.
