After spending a month in complete isolation at a remote cottage in Wales, Max Cooper presents ‘One Hundred Billion Sparks’, his third studio album, in which he interrogates notions of identity whilst profiling the complex mechanisms that make us all wonderfully unique. Every track on the album was created with a visual story in mind, and scored to that aesthetic and narrative.
The album is called “One Hundred Billion Sparks”, referring to the action of the hundred billion neurones which make us, us.
As one of the leading artists exploring the intersection of music, science, art and technology, Max Cooper has sustained a reputation for providing insightful projects via sound, visuals and immersive installations. 'One Hundred Billion Sparks' advances that reputation, with an artistic exploration of ideas communicating the marvel of our existence.
His latest release 'Hope' depicts one of this chapters and comes early in the story of one hundred billion sparks. The new video for this chapter was made by Thomas Vanz in collaboration with Max and it is adapting the idea of hope, in a personal, human sense, to the journey every ion has to make across the neuronal membrane.
